Former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto has called for the inclusion of opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi into Parliament.
According to Ruto, having opposition leaders functioning from outside makes no sense while the people they are policing are inside the government.
“It is only inside Parliament that they can hold the government to check. Their political parties are in Parliament but they are outside. It’s like trying to drive while outside the car,” Ruto said.
Ruto was speaking at the same event which was attended by Baringo Senator and Deputy President William Ruto’s rival Gideon Moi.
Moi expressed his support for President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga’s handshake.
This even as Moi, Ruto and a section of leaders from the Rift Valley are preparing the region for a Building Bridges Initiative led referendum.
Their motive comes at a time when leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto sharply criticized the Building Bridges initiative, questioning the team’s motive behind the referendum drive.
