The Law Society of Kenya now claims criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta has not been licensed to practise law in Kenya.
According to Stephen Ongaro, a representative of the Law Society of Kenya, Ombeta’s certificate was withdrawn.
Ongaro said this on Thursday to Justice Jessie Lessit who in charge of the Willie Kimani’s murder trial.
According to Ongaro, the LSK points of Ombeta are not enough to allow him practise law in Kenya.
Ombeta has continously failed to appear in court for the mention of Willie Kimani’s murder trial where the lawyer represents three accused persons.
Last month, Ombeta appeared in court with sweat pants saying he was sick but did not reveal what was ailing him, terming it as personal.
However, lawyer Doreen Kali was in court on behalf of Ombeta and defended him, saying he has a valid license.
