Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has received a backlash from a section of netizens after releasing his statement following an attack on Bamburi residents on Monday night by a gang identified as Wakali Kwanza.
Joho urged members of the public to volunteer any information they might have on the attackers to relevant authorities.
In a Twitter post, Joho wrote “I am extremely perturbed by yesterday’s wave of attacks in Bamburi and Mtopanga within Kisauni Sub-county. I urge security agents to move with speed and bring to book perpetrators of last night’s attacks on innocent civilians.”
A section of netizens was, however, not impressed by Joho’s statement, accusing him of reacting too late to the situation.
Others went as far as comparing him to Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, who made his way to the scene of the attacks shortly after the incident was reported.
Here are some sentiments from a section of Kenyans on Twitter.
Judging from the Mombasa County boss’ Instagram post, Joho seems to be living his best life in Beverly Hills, California.
