Sonko backs Ken Okoth bid to legalise bhang

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has joined the push for legalisation of marijuana in Kenya.

Speaking on Thursday during the memorial service of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth at Moi Girls High School, Nairobi, Sonko said the growth and use of Marijuana should be legalised in honour of Ken Okoth.

Sonko said according to research, Marijuana has medicinal value which will help also cure cancer which has become a menace in the country.

He asked young parliamentarian to take up the Bill on legalising bhang use, growth and make sure it passes in Parliament as soon as possible.

“ I would like to tell Babu and Jaguar to push the proposed Bill by Ken Okoth of legalising bhang so that we have it implemented,” said Sonko.

The governor said that by President Uhuru Kenyatta visiting Jamaica might change the perspective of Marijuana in Kenya.
