Migori Governor Okoth Obado accuses his opponents of working on a scheme to oust him.
Obado said he is aware of some people who want him out of office by all means by trying to revive graft cases he was cleared of by the court and the Senate committee.
“My opponents have been fighting me all along to ensure that I am out of office, that is not right, let them use the right means to ascend into power,” said Obado.
Early this year Obado was hard-pressed by the Senate committee to provide documents showing how Sh1.5 billion was spent in the 2017/2018 financial year.
A recent landmark ruling by high court judge Mumbi Ngugi requires governors charged with corruption to stay away from work until their cases are heard and determined.
