Deputy President William Ruto has accused a leading newspaper of carrying a fake headline on its Monday paper.

Monday’s headline of the Standard newspaper reads: “Why Uhuru avoided Ruto at the airport”.

However, in a tweet on Sunday night, DP Ruto termed the headline fake calling the media house and its owners as desperate.

“FAKE NEWS ALERT!I was nowhere near JKIA. I am not surprised that some media houses & their owners are this desperate. Tuwasamehe tu!” said Ruto in a tweet.

According to the newspaper, President Uhuru avoided DP Ruto at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after his trip from Zambia.

President Uhuru allegedly used the ordinary passenger terminal instead of the presidential pavilion where DP Ruto is said to have been waiting to welcome him.
