On Wednesday afternoon a section of North Eastern MPs led by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed addressed a presser thanking President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Labour CS Ukur Yattani as the Treasury cabinet secretary.
Garissa MP and House majority leader Aden Duale was noticeably absent from the presser leading to speculation about his whereabouts on such an important gathering.
Duale is the most powerful Jubilee official from the North Eastern Kenya region.
The appointment of Mr Yattani is a big boost to North Eastern Kenya which has complained over poor representation in high-level government jobs.
