A new report by Odipo dev has ranked the leading influencers on 4 major apps; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
The rankings are based on a number of real followers and number of engagements.
The report however, found that 92 percent of Kenyan influencers have fake followers from bots and 42 percent of them have fake engagement.
Fake accounts by some estimates make up as many as 95 million of Instagram’s users and 48 million of Twitter’s users. The bots are used as a currency in the black market of online influence and behave like real accounts.
