Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Richard Echesa has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to help Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi secure a leadership position like Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
Addressing the residents of Kakamega on Monday, Echesa said the president should give Mudavadi a job to prove that he has the interests of the Luhya community at heart.
He said by so doing, President Kenyatta will show inclusivity, because ‘right now people from the region feel neglected’.
“The president has ignored this region and I would like to tell him Musalia Mudavadi needs to be given a continental job like Odinga,” said Echesa.
The former CS says Mudavadi will use the job to influence the allocation of development resources to the Western region.
Echesa added that the region needs to rethink on who to support if they want to benefit from the national cake.
The former minister urged the Luhya to rally their support behind Deputy President William Ruto if they want ‘one of their own’ to lead the country.
