Deputy President William Ruto has hit out the secretary general of Jubilee Party, Raphael Tuju, calling him the chief strategist for the opposition party.
According to Ruto, democracy in Jubilee has become too liberal, allowing Tuju to do political planning for the opposition.
“So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of the ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition,” said Ruto on Twitter.
According to DP Ruto allies, Tuju has joined Raila ‘s campaign team ahead of 2022 presidential elections.
Tuju is allegedly a key advisor of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Nyanza region in terms of political, social and economic development.
In June, leaked audio between Tuju and Kiambu politician George Nyanja went viral, angering DP Ruto allies who called for the SG to resign.
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot led DP Ruto allies in demanding for the resignation, saying that Tuju has betrayed the ruling party.
In the leaked audio, Tuju told Nyanja that he does not want to reveal political plans until 2021.
“I do not want to come out until 2021… let me just work in the background,” said Tuju.
