An American man accused of sexually molesting girls in an orphanage he founded in Bomet has been arrested.
This is according to US officials, the man by the name Gregory Dow was arrested in Lancaster, Philadelphia.
Dow, who is 60 years old, was allegedly sexually abusing girls at the Dow Family Children’s Home in Kapsiratet village.
A US lawyer, Mr William McSwain told the media that Dow will be charged with four counts of engaging in sexual abuse in a foreign country.
McSwain also said that Dow engaged in illegal sexual behaviour with four minors in Kenya from October 14, 2013, to September 13, 2014.
The Dow Family’s children home was started by Dow and his wife Mary Rose in Boito, Bomet after they sold their farm in East Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania.
The place was home to 79 children in 2015.
However, in 2017 after a warrant of arrest was issued against him for the sexual abuse charges, Dow fled Kenya until his arrest.
