Police officer assaulted and gun stolen at a Machakos joint

Police are investigating an incident where a fellow officer was attacked by thugs, his gun stolen and assaulted.

Area traffic base commander Huron Addinasir was allegedly taking supper at a food joint in the outskirts of Machakos when hooded thugs stormed the place and pounced on him.

County police commander Farah Maalim confirmed the reports and revealed that the injured officer was first taken to Machakos Level 5 Referral Hospital before being transferred to Nairobi South Hospital for specialised treatment.

The gang members, who reportedly had crude weapons, also made away with unknown amount of money, personal effects, and jewelry.

“At this point, we do not want to speculate over who might have attacked the officer, or the motive behind the attack but investigations are ongoing,” Maalim concluded.
