Prof. Makau Mutua Wednesday said that Deputy President William Ruto has committed a cardinal sin.
He said the La Mada hotel assassination saga is a desperate move by the deputy president to attract sympathy.
“This a kamikaze act; where an individual who has lost all hope and all the avenues to success have been closed takes a desperate act such as blowing themselves up, politically, and that is what this is,” he said.
He said that DP Ruto’s campaign mode way before elections means that he is desperate. He was speaking on JKL on Citizen TV.
“I don’t think that Jubilee is a living political party, it is dead,” he said. He denied that Ruto delivered the Rift Valley vote to Kenyatta. He said the leadership of the country is myopic.
He however credited Ruto with having a brilliant strategic mind.
He cast doubt on hopes that people from central Kenya would back the deputy president. Ruto has made multiple journeys to central Kenya allegedly to build support.
He dismissed the Ruto allied Tanga Tanga group calling it manga manga. He said President Uhuru Kenyatta will likely betray his deputy president.
“This country does not need people like Ruto who have been accused of corruption, giving tens of millions to churches claiming he has invested in heaven,” Mutua said.
