Kinangop residents threaten to lynch blind man, wife selling bhang

Residents of Kinangop area were filled with anger on Tuesday after they discovered that a blind man and his wife were allegedly selling bhang to children.

The residents were bitter, threatening to burn their house and lynch them but resolved to throw their belongings out of their rental house.

The angry Kinangop residents also frog-marched the couple to the police station and told officials not to allow them back in their village.

“If they ever come back to our village we will kill them. We do not want to see them ever again,” the angry villagers shouted.

According to the locals, the couple are also using minors to sell the bhang. The residents retrieved 700mg of bhang.

The suspects, Mukuha Kamau and Susan Wanjiku, told a Nation reporter that they have been doing this business for a while.

According to the suspects, the wife sells the bhang roles at home while the blind man sells them in town.

Kinangop sub-county police commander Charles Rotich confirmed the arrest of the suspects, saying they will soon be arraigned.
