Interior and Co-ordination of National Government Principal Secretary (PS) Karanja Kibicho has dismissed Deputy President Ruto’s assassination claims.
The Interior PS said the allegations on the assassination of Ruto was just based on media reports since the DP has not made any formal complaint.
The PS said this during his official visit to Shauri Moyo AP camp in Nairobi. Kibicho had visited the area to launch a borehole project.
A communications official in Ruto’s office, Dennis Itumbi, was arrested on 3, July 2019 in connection with a fake assassination letter that was doing rounds on social media.
Itumbi, who is still in police custody, told a Nairobi Court that he has tapes which will prove the La Mada Hotel meetings were about Ruto’s assassinations.
Three Cabinet secretaries – Joe Mucheru (ICT), Peter Munya (Trade and East African Community) and Sicily Kariuki (Health) – were summoned by the DCI on claims of planning DP Ruto’s assassination.
However, the three denied the allegations, urging DP Ruto to make a formal complaint which he has not done to date.
