President Uhuru Kenyatta has spoken about his last meeting with the late Bob Collymore during the memorial service held at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi.
Uhuru said that in the last meeting he had with Collymore, he asked the ex-CEO what he could do for him.
“The only thing you can do for me is you make sure you all take care of Wambui and the kids, that’s all I want, I’m not interested in anything else,” said Collymore to President Uhuru.
According to Uhuru, their meeting lasted approximately 3 hours where Collymore told him about his vision for Safaricom and the country.
Uhuru also described Collymore as a man who loved Kenya as if it was his country.
“He loved Safaricom as if it was his company. He loved his wife and children,” Uhuru said while eulogizing Collymore.
President Uhuru also said Bob Collymore was concerned about how fast the moral fabric of Kenya’s society was deteriorating.
