Kennedy Obimba popularly referred to as ‘King Kaka’ announced on Saturday that he will be conducting a campaign for girls to get free sanitary towels.
The campaign will be done in the form of a menstrual walk dubbed “Bank On Me” and will start on August 19th.
According to King Kaka the walk will be done from Nairobi to Nakuru covering 154 kilometers in one week.
Kaka said this project targets young girls who fear having their periods due to lack of sanitary towels.

“Some girls in rural areas have to transact sex for sanitary towels and as a nation, we have failed on this part. These girls end up missing 60 to 70 academic days because of unavailability of pads,” said Kaka.
According to Kaka, he hopes the project will provide enough sanitary towels to keep 100,000 girls in school.
The managing director of Kaka, Dennis Njenga said they have already reached 12,000 girls in the Bank On Me project.
“We hope to reach 15,000 more girls before the years ends,” said Njenga.
