In the recent past, the global population has been on an increase, but despite life expectancy rising, and living standards improving, there is an increase in premature deaths.

According to the World Health Organization, over 85 percent of these premature deaths are in low and middle-income countries. As much as there is a big threat to human life, there are several ways one can avoid premature death.

First one should avoid smoking. Cigarette smoking leads to various diseases, such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cardiovascular disease.

WHO Research shows that the tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing more than 8 million people a year.

Secondly, for you to living for long, you should exercise regularly. Regular physical activity plays a vital role in preventing health diseases and stroke.

There is a great benefit of exercising because it is an effective treatment for many chronic conditions which lead to a number of deaths. When you exercise, you activate your body, making it fit and helping in blood circulation.

Reduce the amount of saturated fat in your diet. Instead increase consumption of fresh fruit, vegetables and wholegrain cereals.

You should also avoid excessive alcohol consumption. When you drink excessively, you are at risk of being involved in a road accident, being injured or injuring other people and even contracting infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV/Aids.

Avoid toxic relationships. We have seen physical abuse leading to a number of deaths in the world. Always walk out of an abusive relationship because your partner may end your life unexpectedly.

Finally, you need to go for regular medical checkups in order to detect budding diseases at an early stage.
