Former Egyptian president Mohammed Mursi dies in court

Former Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi has reportedly died after fainting in a court room.

Mursi was a top official in the Muslim Brotherhood.

He was Egypt’s first democratically elected president and was in office from 30 June, 2012 to 3 July, 2013.

Mursi was ousted by the military in 2013 after mass protests against his rule.

The former president was serving a prison term of seven years for faking his candidacy application during the 2012 presidential race.
